The feed from the JIS has proven to be very unreliable, going down few times and now giving an error. Thankfully, there is another way. You can use the feed provided by OfficeHolidays.
This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while. I have always had the US holidays on my calendar. I always knew the Jamaica Information Service (JIS) had the authoritative list of holidays on their website. As a programmer, naturally I thought of writing a public calendar to read the data from JIS. In seeing how I could get to scrape this data, I discovered a link which has the calendar in iCalendar format.
Update 1: If that link is broken, your device/browser does not support the webcal protocol. Copy this link:
http://goo.gl/UvPlm1 manually to Google Calendar’s web interface. Click the dropdown beside
Other Calendars then click
Add by URL.
